Gazprom Neft expands collaboration with the “Talent and Success” Foundation

Gazprom Neft has concluded a Cooperation Agreement on R&D and educational activities with the "Talent and Success" Foundation, under a document signed at the 2021 St Petersburg International Economic Forum by Alexander Dyukov (CEO, Gazprom Neft) and Elena Shmeleva (Head, Talent and Success Foundation).

Gazprom Neft’s representative office in Sirius (an urban district and Russia’s first ever specially designated "federal territory") will help facilitate joint research with the Sirius University of Science and Technology and other tenants in this science park. Gazprom Neft will also be getting involved in educational programmes for training employees in technology, digital and operational transformation, and business diversification at Sirius University.

The cooperation programme between Gazprom Neft and the Talent and Success Foundation envisages the establishment of joint technological cyber-security and robotics laboratories, and the development of an integrated and cohesive system for research in artificial intelligence, 3D printing, quantum computing, drones, and other end-to-end technologies. One of the new partnership’s most important tasks will be implementing digital transformation projects in the energy sector.

«We have been working successfully with the Talent and Success Foundation for several years now. Gazprom Neft employees regularly act as experts on the Sirius Centre’s educational programmes, and this science-focussed city has hosted the finals of our high school students’ "Developing Talent"’ intellectual tournament for two years in a row. I am confident that the company’s new science and technology business unit in Sirius will become a centre of attraction for talented students and young professionals, partners, and interesting ideas.» – Chairman of the Management Board, Gazprom Neft Alexander Dyukov.

«Our ‘Big Challenges’ and ‘Sirius.Summer’ programmes, run in conjunction with Gazprom Neft, help young engineers to get involved in solving those challenges most directly relevant to the development of the Russian economy, and all of its regions. This agreement will involve establishing new laboratories and pilot production facilities, as well as organising academic partnership programmes and internships for students at the Sirius University of Science and Technology.» – Head, Talent and Success Foundation Elena Shmeleva.

The “Talent and Success” educational foundation was established by leading figures from the arts, sports and science in 2013, following a directive from Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, who heads its Board of Trustees. The Foundation opened its “Sirius Education Centre” in 2015, the objective of which is to identify, develop and provide professional support for children demonstrating outstanding abilities in the arts, sports, and natural sciences, or demonstrating outstanding technical resourcefulness. A Science and Technology Innovation Centre and a University of Science and Technology have been operating as part of the Sirius “ecosystem” since 2019, offering intensive short courses as well as graduate and postgraduate programmes. The Sirius urban district became Russia’s first ever specially designated “federal territory” in 2020.
