The Gazprom Neft “Home Towns” CSR programme is one of the most successful and best-known local development initiatives offered by Russian businesses. Voluntary activities, city celebrations and major international festivals — whatever the size or scale, all projects under the Home Towns programme are directed at addressing specific and unique problems in those regions in which Gazprom Neft operates.
The “Developing Talent” intellectual competition is an educational project for middle and senior high school students. The Developing Talent competition differs from typical academic “Olympiads” in testing competitors’ ability to apply their academic knowledge to solving actual, real-world industrial and technical challenges.
The Sirius Education Centre was opened by the “Talent and Success” Foundation in 2015 (based within 2014 Winter Olympics facilities) by order of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, who heads its Board of Trustees. The work of the Sirius Education Centre is focussed on the early identification, development and further professional support for gifted children showing extraordinary talent in arts, sports, the sciences and technical creativity. More than 40,000 Russian schoolchildren have completed courses at Sirius over the past four years.
