Professional Growth Center

In 2015, Gazprom Neft Science and Technology Center opened the Professional Growth Center (PGC). Originally a functional element of the STC, the Professional Growth Center has now become a major component of Gazprom Neft’s educational and staff development function.

Professional Growth Center

The Professional Growth Center successfully builds ties with key Russian and overseas universities (Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh, Texas A&M University, French Institute of Petroleum IFP), international professional communities (SPE, EAGE), leading oilfield service companies (Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, Halliburton), etc.

The PGC’s strategic goal is to accumulate and communicate the necessary technical knowledge in oil production to Gazprom Neft staff, thus offering them an opportunity for continuous professional growth and development. The PGC trainers and instructors are mostly the STC experts, and their number has already exceeded 150 people. They are subject-matter experts in a variety of disciplines, including four Doctors of Sciences and 26 Candidates of Sciences. In 2016, the process was started to register the PGC training programs as STC’s intellectual property. The PGC is an active participant in educational projects in Gazprom Neft’s partner universities: the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, St.-Petersburg State University, Novosibirsk State University, St.-Petersburg Polytechnic University, Tomsk State University, Tyumen Industrial University, etc.

The Professional Growth Center is yet another element of the corporate training system, a high-tech experience exchange forum that offers new opportunities for preserving and spreading the knowledge. Establishment of this center of competence helps accumulate knowledge, effectively circulate this knowledge within the Company, and generate innovative ideas.
