When deciding whether or not to participate in a project, Gazprom Neft conducts a detailed analysis of the asset’s economics, which includes evaluation of geological parameters, potential risks, costs and development economics.
This work performed by the Science and Technology Center’s experts includes evaluation of initial petroleum-in-place, determination of optimal field development sequence and selection of development technologies, assessment of potential production levels. The next step is to estimate the capital and operating expenditures for the project, choose the most efficient development scenario, build a financial and economic model, and calculate respective key performance indicators.
Apart from geological and economic evaluation of new assets, the Science and Technology Center is continuously working to improve efficiency of existing projects by evaluating the efficiency of new technology deployments and proposing solutions intended to optimize infrastructure costs.
Between 2012 and 2018, the STC specialists evaluated over 300 assets in Russia and abroad.
