He started working in the oil and gas industry in Samaraneftegaz upon graduating from the University. He also worked in Tomskneft VNK and Yuganskneftegaz. He has worked his way up from the oil and gas production operator to the chief geologist and chief engineer. Since 2011, he has held executive offices in Rosneft being responsible for the integrated long-term plans for the implementation of oil projects, including the office of the Head of the Department for Development of Oil and Gas Production in Russia. Since 2016, he has been the Head of the Geological Exploration Department with the Directorate of Geological Exploration (GE) and Resource Base Development (RBD) of Gazprom Neft. Since 2018, he has been the Executive Director of the Gazprom Neft Research and Development Center.

In 1994, he graduated from the Samara State Technical University majoring in the Oil and Gas Fields Development and Operation. He studied under the continuing education programs, including the joint program of the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and the Moscow Skolkovo School of Management taking the course in the Major Oil and Gas Projects Planning. He is a Candidate of Technical Sciences.
