Has been working in the oil and gas industry for more than 30 years. He started as an oil and gas production operator at the OGPD of Krasnoleninskneft; later he worked as the Chief Technologist, Chief Engineer, Head of the Oil and Gas Production Departments in TNK-Nyagan, Yugraneft, Orenburgneft. In 2006, he took up the office of the Executive Director of Orenburgneft and the General Director of Orenburggeologiya; later he became the Head of Verkhnechonskneftegaz. In 2012, he was appointed the General Director of Orenburgneft. Since 2013, he has been working in Gazprom Neft where he headed the Long-Term Development and Project Activities Department; since 2015 - the Drilling and Downhole Operations Department. Since 2018, he has been the Executive Director of the Gazprom Neft Research and Development Center. For his professional merits, he was awarded the title of the Honorary Oilman, the RF Government Award, the highest title of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation - the Honorary Worker of the Fuel and Energy Complex.

He graduated from the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry majoring in the Technology and Complex Mechanization of Oil and Gas Fields Development in 1985. He took various continuing education courses at the Moscow Skolkovo School of Management, and in the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD). In his Candidate of Science thesis, he studied the gas-lift method in the fields development.
