Hard-to-recover reserves development conference

November 24-25, 2017, Saint-Petersburg, Russia

Dear colleagues,

We are delighted to invite you to participate in the 6th International Conference on Problems and Experience in Developing Hard-to-Recover Reserves in Oil and Gas Condensate Fields, which will take place on 23–24 November 2017 at the St Petersburg Mining University, located at 2, 21-ya Liniya, Vasilyevskogo Ostrova, St. Petersburg.

The theme chosen as the focus for this year’s conference is Science-driven Technologies, the importance of which cannot be overstated. It is science, after all, which provides the inexhaustible wellspring for global technological progress and the innovative, breakthrough ideas that transform our vision for the methods and approaches applied in industry.

In light of the considerable scientific and practical significance of the conference, we sincerely hope that you will be able to personally participate.

Main Focus Areas:

Geology and development:

  • Analysing and developing technologies for geology and processing of hard-to-recover reserves (including unconventional reservoirs)
  • Examining methods for resource base modelling and evaluation
  • Specifying the role of seismic exploration in the study and development of hard-to-recover resources
  • Describing and assessing the applicability of new technologies for predicting the properties of hard-to-recover and unconventional deposits
  • Applying structural, tectonic, and basin modelling methods in the study of hard-to-recover resources
  • Sharing best practices in core sampling and research methodology for low-permeability and saline reservoirs

Drilling and well intervention:

  • Drilling and development problems in the context of the need to significantly increase economic efficiency
  • Complex completion systems, including multilateral completion
  • Increasing fracking efficiency

Extraction:

  • Contemporary approaches to the use of oil, gas, and condensate extraction equipment and technologies
  • Tools and methods for predicting and counteracting complications in oil, gas, and condensate extraction
  • Increasing efficiency as a means of reducing operational costs and capital expenditure on infrastructure and construction of oil, gas, and condensate fields
  • Tertiary methods for increasing oil recovery

Integrating education, science, and production:

  • The science side: what’s new since sanctions were introduced?
  • What scientific developments have we managed to implement ourselves without bringing in ideas from elsewhere?

The event will include a roundtable session to discuss the challenges currently facing the industry.

All participants are also invited to join a free sightseeing tour of St Petersburg.
