Models of fields

Conceptual geological model is interpretation of how any given formation was developing, which of its areas will have better and worse properties, where to drill the first wells, where there are still reserves in place, and what sort of features these reserves have. Seeking to improve conceptual geological modeling processes, Gazpromneft NTC promotes the philosophy of “modeling hierarchy”, when the model’s detail level and maturity change depending on the tasks that geologists pursue. This helps better address the issues that may arise in the course of field development phase and make the integrated modeling process faster and cheaper. Today, the Center has more than 70 conceptual models covering over 90% of the area of future drilling operations.
